Scoop Durham is an entirely student-run, non-profit that sells dried and artisan food, household goods and handmade jewellery, all plastic free at affordable prices. Scoop Durham donates its profits to three local Durham charities selected by the customer at the checkout till. This year, these three charities are Durham Action on Single Housing (DASH), Fare Share, and Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre (RSACC). Its ethos is centred on the collective power of individual action in bringing about small-scale, positive change.
In the store, Scoop Durham offers a wide variety of products ranging from artisan soaps to homemade preserves to handmade earrings. Alongside this, it offers over 30 dried food products ranging from tea and coffee to pasta and dried fruits. Make sure to bring your own container or if you forget, don’t worry as you can buy 5p biodegradable bags at the store! Make sure to also check out the beautiful student artworks throughout the store! Scoop Durham currently only accepts card payments.
Open every Saturday this July and August from 12-5pm!
