🎶 Live at The Riverwalk: Four Weeks of Music to Launch Durham’s Newest Installation

The Riverwalk in Durham is about to come alive.

To celebrate the unveiling of a brand-new public art installation, we're launching four weeks of free live music every Friday and Saturday at 12 PM, showcasing a diverse lineup of incredible regional performers. From rising talent to local legends, these afternoon sessions will bring sound, energy, and atmosphere to the heart of the city.

Here’s the full schedule and what you can expect from each performance:

Friday, August 22 at 12 PM – Lily Cooke

Lily Cooke is a new, young, and upcoming musician set to make an enormous impression on Durham’s music scene. With a strong voice and acoustic guitar stylings, her set is full of variety and liveliness.

Lily continues to showcase her talent across the city and beyond, supported by a community that believes in her sound. After an amazing response to her past performances, we’re thrilled to welcome her back to open the Riverwalk Summer Event series.

Saturday, August 23 at 12 PM – Emma Robson

Emma Robson is no stranger to Durham. A regular performer at local events and venues, Emma's unique voice and warm acoustic accompaniment have helped her blossom as a beloved musician in the region.

Recently releasing a series of singles on major music platforms, Emma represents the strength and success of Durham’s thriving music scene.

Friday, August 29 at 12 PM – Ana Munoz

Ana Munoz is a sensational local talent whose voice has graced competitions, weddings, and renowned venues across the region. Her clarity and soulful delivery create an atmosphere full of passion and joy.

Get ready for an afternoon filled with music, fun, and lasting memories as Ana takes the Riverwalk stage.

Saturday, August 30 at 12 PM – Sam Shields

Hailing from Northumberland, Sam Shields is a singer-songwriter whose performances blend heartfelt originals with covers of legends like Springsteen, Dylan, and Johnny Cash.

A new face at the Riverwalk, Sam’s authentic sound and storytelling promise a powerful musical experience.

Friday, September 5 at 12 PM – James Holmes

James Holmes is a solo acoustic artist doing covers with a lively, feel-good vibe. Crowd-pleasing sets mixing classic rock, Britpop, and 90s/00s nostalgia — featuring artists like The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Oasis, Stereophonics, The Cure, Gnarls Barkley, and more. Ideal for venues wanting familiar tunes with a bit of edge.

Saturday, September 6 at 12 PM – Paul Randall (‘Big Red’)

We welcome Paul Randall, better known as ‘Big Red’ — the dynamic frontman of Big Red and The Grinners. A gifted multi-instrumentalist and born performer, Paul brings charisma, talent, and pure entertainment.

Friday, September 12 at 12 PM – Dannielle Keys

Dannielle Keys is a musical powerhouse playing throughout Durham and the North East. Her setlist is packed with instantly recognizable hits from Blondie, Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, Rick Astley, and many more.

Often called a “human jukebox,” Dannielle’s performances keep audiences singing along from start to finish.

Saturday, September 13 at 12 PM – Izzie Summers

We close out the Riverwalk Summer Sessions with the fantastic Izzie Summers. A young and talented artist with remarkable stage energy, Izzie is just beginning her journey in the music business — and what a start she’s having.

Covering popular tunes with her own vibrant flair, Izzie is the perfect finale to this summer’s celebration.
